During the Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase, Microsoft shared an overview of games that will be released in the next 12 months for the Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. This shows that there are a lot of great titles in the pipeline and we also conclude that STALKER 2 has been postponed to next year.
This game was scheduled for a December release, but due to the war in Ukraine, development has been halted for a while. It is therefore not surprising that the game is no longer certain of a release at the end of the year and that means that the game has been pushed to 2023. And then the question is whether it will work.
GSC Game World announced they moved the team from Kyiv to Prague in March, but it’s unclear if development as a whole has resumed now.
In May, the official Stalker 2 Discord group, which is maintained by GSC Game World, reportedly informed fans that development on the sequel had resumed. This was in response to an unverified claim that GSC Game World had relocated to the Czech Republic following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. According to the information from the Xbox presentation, we’ll have to wait a little longer for the much-anticipated sequel.
