GTA V RP Explained: Tips and Tricks for New Players

GTA V RP is one of the most popular game modes in Grand Theft Auto V. Even though this isn’t an official part of the game, it has become the most popular way to play GTA online. Unlike normal GTA Online, this mode’s multiplayer is handled by a third-party server called FiveM.

FiveM becomes the place where all the mods, like police mods, EMS and mechanic mods, car mods, and so on, can run online. So, what is role-playing? GamingCyborg would like to explain this game mode to people who are new to GTA online. Let’s get started without further ado.

What is GTA V RP?

GTA V Roleplay is a game mode that lets you play a role, as the name suggests. Players can show who they are by putting themselves in different roles and making up their own stories. In this mode, you will be the story’s director and writer. You will meet other players and talk to them while also playing a role.

Just like in real life, you’ll need to give your character or avatar a name, a reason for moving to the city (the roleplay server), and a plan for the kind of life you want to live with that name. But unlike GTA Online, where you can do whatever you want, you’ll have to pay attention to these things.

GTA V Roleplay Tips for Beginners

1. Follow the Rules of the Server

In GTA V Roleplay, you can join a lot of different GTA RP servers. “Towns” is the synonym for these servers. And before you can move to a town, you have to follow its rules. Make sure you know what to do and what not to do in these towns. By following these rules, you also keep yourself from being kicked off the server.

2. Don’t Do Anything Impulsively

As was already said, GTA Roleplay is not the same as GTA Online, where you can do anything you want. In GTA Roleplay, it’s not the case because each Town has its own rules. For instance, just because you have weapons doesn’t mean you can shoot at other players. Keep in mind that you have to stay in your role in GTA Roleplay.

3. Play the Role

Since roleplaying is a big part of this mode, players are encouraged to do things that fit (and are limited to) their roles. For example, if you’re playing a police officer in a role-playing game, your main job is to catch thieves, give tickets to people who break traffic laws and stop other crimes.

4. Never Be Afraid to Speak Up

Players in GTA Roleplay have to use a microphone on every server. It’s a way for players to talk to each other. You’ll have to talk to other people, just like in real life. If you’re new to a server (Town), you’ll need to ask other players how the Town works, how to stay alive, and other things so that your character can get better.

5. Determine the Character’s Background

To learn more about your role, it’s a good idea to find out where your character came from. As a role player, you’ll have a better time if you do this. Don’t forget to give your character some details to back them up. For example, if you are playing as a female police officer on an Indonesian server, you can give your character short hair like female police officers in Indonesia.

How to Play GTA V RP

1. Download the Software

You can get the base game of GTA V from Steam or Epic Games Store. To play other games from Rockstar Games and FiveM, which is the platform for the servers, you’ll need to download the Rockstar Games Launcher. Make sure that all the software you use is connected to your account.

2. Pick a Server

You can join hundreds or even thousands of roleplaying servers. Find servers from Germany if you want to join a German server. Some German servers that come highly recommended are Five-RP, Real Life Online, Immortal RP, LuckyV, Unity Life, and so on. NoPixel is one of the most-used servers in the world.

3. Join the Discord Servers

Before you join a GTA V RP server, make sure you’ve already joined the Discord server. You will be able to view the rules once you have joined the Discord servers.

4. Make Sure Your PC Meets the Minimum Requirements

Since this game is already difficult and needs a lot of memory, make sure your computer meets the minimum requirements.

Grand Theft Auto V Minimum Requirements:

  • OS: Windows 10 64 Bit, Windows 8.1 64 Bit, Windows 8 64 Bit, Windows 7 64 Bit Service Pack 1
  • Processor: Intel Core 2 Quad CPU Q6600 @ 2.40GHz (4 CPUs) / AMD Phenom 9850 Quad-Core Processor (4 CPUs) @ 2.5GHz
  • Memory: 4 GB RAM
  • Graphics: NVIDIA 9800 GT 1GB / AMD HD 4870 1GB (DX 10, 10.1, 11)
  • Storage: 107 GB of available space
  • Sound Card: 100% DirectX 10 compatible

Grand Theft Auto V Recommended Requirements:

  • OS: Windows 10 64 Bit, Windows 8.1 64 Bit, Windows 8 64 Bit, Windows 7 64 Bit Service Pack 1
  • Processor: Intel Core i5 3470 @ 3.2GHz (4 CPUs) / AMD X8 FX-8350 @ 4GHz (8 CPUs)
  • Memory: 8 GB RAM
  • Graphics: NVIDIA GTX 660 2GB / AMD HD 7870 2GB
  • Storage: 107 GB of available space
  • Sound Card: 100% DirectX 10 compatible

Aside from that, the game will only work if you have a stable internet connection of at least 20 Mbps. And set up a VPN if you want to connect to servers in other countries. If you don’t want to do that, you’ll just have to find a server in FiveM and go straight to the Town.

Keep in mind that each server has its own content, like car mods or building mods. If your device’s specs aren’t great and you join a server with a lot of features and mods, you may experience lag.
