Activision Now Has Official Publisher Page on Steam

Activision now has an official Steam publisher page.

It was reported on Reddit over the weekend that Activision now has an official publisher profile on Steam. Popular games like Call of Duty, Crash Bandicoot, Spyro, and even (relatively) obscure ones like Prototype, Zork, and Vampire: The Masquerade are currently available on the publisher’s Steam portal.

Activision’s publishing page presently has 215 games in total. However, this does not mean that these games have only recently become available on Steam with the addition of the publisher’s new profile page, as titles like Spyro, Crash Bandicoot, and others were always widely accessible.

The page can be visited here and shows several games that are already available, such as Prototype and Crash Bandicoot: N.Sane Trilogy. The addition of the publisher’s page is striking because Activision has mainly released its games on Battle.net instead of on Steam in recent years.

Lately, however, Activision seems to be taking an increasing interest in Steam. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, which is scheduled to be released this fall, will also be available on Steam. Gamers, therefore, hope that future games from Activision – and previously released games that are not yet on it, such as Crash Bandicoot 4 – will also be added in the future.

Earlier this year, it was announced that Microsoft plans to acquire Activision Blizzard for a record $68.7 billion. Both companies intend to go through with this, but the deal still needs to be approved by watchdogs worldwide to ensure that companies cannot gain a monopoly in a specific market.
